Y.E.S. Programs

Y.E.S  - Youth.  Education.  Service.

We take pride in our national program, Y.E.S., which consists of initiatives that are closely aligned to the purpose of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. Our three – point Y.E.S. Program is affirmation of our public service mission to the field of education as we are ever striving for the pursuit of excellence.

Youth 

Xinos

The Xinos is an affiliate groups of NSPDK and is designed as mentoring program for female youth in the 9-12 grades. 

The purpose of the Xinos is:

  • to lift the educational, moral, and social standards of youths, 

  • to aid in the development of well rounded individuals, 

  • to create a desire in girls to improve their scholarship, 

  • to provide an opportunity for girls to broaden their scope of activities, 

  • to encourage active participation in civic activities, and 

  • to emphasize the cultural and social graces of womanhood.

Kudos

The Kudos is an affiliate groups of NSPDK and is designed as mentoring program for male youth in the 9-12 grades. 

The purpose of the Kudos is: 

  • to lift the educational, moral, and social standards of youths, 

  • to aid in the development of well rounded individuals, 

  • to create a desire in boys to improve their scholarship, 

  • to provide an opportunity for boys to broaden their scope of activities, 

  • to encourage active participation in civic activities, and 

  • to emphasize the cultural and social graces of manhood.

Education

The Alpha Mu Chapter works throughout the sororal year to educate the community and each other. We host educational events, participate in various community events and education related trips.

The Alpha Mu Chapter hosts a number of activities geared toward educating local educators, parents and students. Check the events section for upcoming dates.

Local and National Scholarships

The National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc offers a scholarship to high school seniors pursuing a career in education. For more information about this scholarship visit www.nspdkinc1923.org

Alpha Mu Chapter offers a local scholarship to high school seniors in Anne Arundel and Howard Counties that have demonstrated academic excellence and community service. For more information about this scholarship email nspdkalphamu@gmail.com

Service

Alpha Mu is invested in the bettering the community. As such, the chapter participates in many community service projects to uplift students, parents and educators in the Anne Arundel and Howard County community.  Some recent projects include:

  • Anne Arundel County Holiday Sharing Project

  • St. Mark Methodist Church Food Bank

  • Northern Anne Arundel County Preservation Society Inc. Presentation
